Echo of the Low Light is an independent collective of rotating Pacific Northwest artists experimenting with an aleatoric(ish) approach to creating music.
While a ‘skeleton’ of each song is written, large parts of the composition are left open to chance, each collaborator bringing their own style and feel - the only instruction given is to keep with the emotional integrity of the song. Only in the studio, ready to record, are everyone’s parts revealed.
‘Shipwreck’, ‘Hunting Stones’, and ‘Fault Lines’ (all released in 2020); followed by ‘Afterlife’ and ‘Gold Things’ (both released 2021); ‘Wild World Away’ (released in 2022); ‘Valley’ and ‘Disco’ (released in 2023); ‘Fearless Arrows’ (released in 2024) capture this process, resulting in a cinematic, pop-noir sound akin to Beach House, Still Corners, and Broadcast.
